Can I have duplicate certificates for co-owners? [top]
Unfortunately in an effort to contain costs we can only supply one certificate, to the owner of the dog.
I have received my certificate and it has an error. Can I get a new certificate? [top]
If you receive a certificate with spelling or other error of our doing, please do notify Longevity Chairperson and a new certificate will be issued free of charge. However, we cannot reissue certificates free of charge if you make a spelling or other error on your application. If you enter a valid email address on your application, you will receive an email Please contact the Chairperson for details.
My dog ate my certificate/I spilled coffee/tea/pop on my certificate - can I get a new one? [top]
Sure, we can send you a new certificate, but you will be expected to pay for it. Please contact the Chairperson for details.
What if I don't have an AKC registration? [top]
We are not limiting ourselves only to DPCA Dobermans or American Dobermans. We will accept registration from any legitimate National or International Kennel Club. This includes, in part, the AKC, CKC, FCI, KC, etc. Dual registrations (such as AKC/CKC) also will be recorded. And we will accept an ILP Doberman for the LC (not the BFL). No, those dogs are not part of the breeding pool, but they have still demonstrated longevity by living past the age of 10 and deserve kudos.
My dog is living. Her certificate was issued as an LC-10L and now she's 11. What do I do? [top]
We will not reissue a certificate each year for living LC dogs. However we really appreciate updates to the database and will change the number on the website to reflect advancing age. When the dog passes, a final certificate reflecting age at death will be issued. To receive the final certificate, please notify us with your dog's LC number along with the actual date of death. Presumed cause of death is optional, but desirable information for the database.
Submission Tips [top]
The preferred method of submission is directly online. Please proof carefully before submission. We cannot reissue certificates if you make a spelling or other error. However if you receive a certificate with spelling or other error of our doing, please do notify Longevity Chairperson and a new certificate will be issued. If you detect errors on the website please notify Longevity Chairperson and these will be corrected as soon as possible. The alternate way to submit an application is by snail mail. You can either print a copy of the application from this website or you may receive it in publications such as "The Pipeline".
Submitting Photos [top]
If you have photos of your senior Dobermans, send them to the Longevity Chairperson. While we encourage you to send in a Longevity Certified application on your 10+ year old Doberman, we accept photos of all seniors even if they're not longevity certified.
