It is urgent that everyone respond to this situation
in Florida.
Dog lovers everywhere need to go on record with the Committee Members
listed below and state their concerns about the proposed legislation in
their county. If you attend shows in that area, be sure to point out
that their community will not be receiving your travel and tourist
dollars. Use the sample letter below and take action NOW. Our DPCA
members in the area need our help. If this passes as proposed, the
snowball effect will come to rest in your community. If you live in
Florida, show up at the meeting.

I have been following with interest your proposed legislation regarding pet ownership in Dade County. It is my belief that the path you are proposing will have severe long term negative effects. I for one, and those in my family, would no longer choose to spend our vacation dollars in a county where pet ownership is totally dictated by your government. Under your proposal, any rights we have as American pet owners will be stripped away. It is far more logical to me to educate the citizens in your county regarding responsible pet ownership. Please reconsider your proposal and at the very least allow more time for a long range plan to be developed. I am relieved to say that I still live in an area where the rights of individual Americans are the first priority.
